Let’s Gear Up for The School Year!

Yes, we know, school just got out.

But for many families in our community, the stress of providing school supplies for their children in September has already become a heavy load.

This is where you come in!

In July, we are collecting backpacks and financial donations to provide hundreds of school-aged children with the basic supplies they need. Your donations will then be distributed through local schools and our partners at Parable and Centro Shalom.

Our goal is to collect $16,000 worth of quality backpacks (about 400 total), but our stretch goal is $18,000 (450 backpacks).

Here’s the ask:

• Bring a Backpack: Bring a high-quality, durable backpack to Parkcrest any Sunday in July (think something like a JanSport, Adidas, Vans, etc) to ensure students receive a bag that will last all year. Please choose a gender-neutral color or pattern, as we won’t know who the recipient will be. We don’t expect backpacks to cost more than $40 each. There are some great summer sales!
• Give Financially:  You can donate by…
  • Writing a check to Parkcrest with “Backpack Drive” in the memo
  • Giving by card at the Missions Table on the patio on Sundays
  • Donating online by selecting “Backpack Drive” as your giving fund.
